Statement from the NBS Bank Board’s 2nd meeting of 2019
The Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska today (29 January) held its 2nd meeting of 2019, chaired by Jozef Makúch, the NBS Governor.
The Bank Board took note of NBS’s January 2019 Monthly Bulletin, which will be published on the NBS website.
The Bank Board took note of the update of NBS’s December 2018 Medium-Term Forecast (MTF-2018Q4U) and approved the Opinion of the NBS Bank Board on MTF-2018Q4U. Both texts will be published on the NBS website.
The Bank Board approved NBS’s January 2018 Quarterly Commentary on Macroprudential Policy.
The Bank Board reaffirmed that the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) rate will be set at 1.50% with effect from 1 August 2019. The CCyB rate for domestic exposures is currently set as follows:

The Bank Board approved the notification of the issuance of a €2 commemorative coin marking the 100th anniversary of the death of Milan Rastislav Štefánik.
Due to be issued in April 2019, the commemorative coin will have the same technical parameters as normal €2 coins and will be legal tender in Slovakia and the rest of the euro area. Its national side was designed by Peter Valach.
The coin has been produced by the Kremnica Mint in Slovakia and has a total issuing volume of one million pieces.
The Bank Board approved the notification of the issuance of a €10 silver collector coin marking the 100th anniversary of the death of Milan Rastislav Štefánik.
The collector coin is made of an alloy comprising silver (90%) and copper (10%); it weighs 18 g and has a diameter of 34 mm. Designed by Mária Poldaufová (obverse side) and Ivan Řehák (reverse side), the coin has been produced by the Kremnica Mint and is due to go on sale in April 2019.
