NBS warning - Central Register of Debtors of the Slovak Republic

Národná banka Slovenska (NBS) warns the public about the ‘proof of no debt’ statements provided through the website of Centrálny register dlžníkov SR (Central Register of Debtors of the Slovak Republic – CERD), at www.registerdlznikov.sk.

CERD is not registered as an official register which, in accordance with Slovak law, records and processes data on borrowers, including their credit commitments and repayment discipline.

Among its services, CERD offers customers the possibility to obtain a summary of their credit commitments and repayment discipline in the form of a ‘proof of no debt’ statement. Such statement may be obtained following registration and the payment of a fee as stated in its price list.

CERD does not have, and never has had, access to data from any of the official registers, nor from any of their users.

The statements that CERD issues for a fee from its register of debtors are not relevant for financial institutions, since they do not contain factual information about the financial obligations of the person concerned.
