NBS warning: Atlantic Global Asset Management, S.A.
Národná banka Slovenska (NBS) warns the public about the activity of Atlantic Global Asset Management, S.A., a company that has its registered office in Cape Verde. The company (AGEM) is marketing investment products in Slovakia while not meeting Slovak statutory requirements and not having received any authorisation to conduct business.
AGEM claims to provide high-yielding investments via internet platforms, promising both substantial returns and effective risk management. AGEM markets its services on its official website – https://atlanticgam.es/ – where it presents its cooperation with various partners, including, for example, Perfect Money, OKPAY, and Bitcoin. Its principal marketing partner is a firm called Questra World, which also operates under the names Questra Holdings and Questra.
Národná banka Slovenska, as the competent authority for issuing authorisations under laws regulating the Slovak financial market, points out that Atlantic Global Asset Management has not been issued with an authorisation to conduct business in Slovakia as required by Act No 566/2001 Coll. on securities and investment services (and amending certain laws), as amended (‘the Securities Act’). AGEM is also not authorised to conduct business in Slovakia under Act No 186/2009 on financial intermediation and financial advisory services (and amending certain laws), as amended. Nor does NBS have any record of the company as a provider of investment services under the European Union’s ‘single passport’ regime.
The business activity of Atlantic Global Asset Management is not subject to NBS supervision, and funds invested with the company are not covered by the Investment Guarantee Fund under the Securities Act.
