Statement from the 35th Meeting of the Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska
The 35th Meeting of the Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska was held today (25 October 2011) and was chaired by Jozef Makúch, the NBS Governor.
The Bank Board discussed the Report on Economic Development for September 2011, which will be published on the NBS website as the Monthly Bulletin of NBS.
The Bank Board approved the announcement on the issue of a €2 commemorative coin marking the 10th anniversary of the introduction of euro banknotes and coins.
The coin is being issued by each euro area country and it features a common design by Austrian artist Helmut Andexlinger. The commemorative coin will have the same technical parameters as a standard €2 circulation coin; it will enter into circulation in January 2012 and will be legal tender in all euro area countries, including Slovakia.
One million of these commemorative coins will be minted in Slovakia, by the Kremnica Mint.
