Statement from the 38th Meeting of the Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska
The 38th Meeting of the Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska was held today (22 November 2011) and was chaired by Jozef Makúch, the NBS Governor.
The Bank Board approved the NBS Decree on the submission of statements by banks, branches of foreign banks, investment firms and branches of foreign investment firms for statistical purposes.
The Decree was drafted in accordance with Article 42(2) of Act No 483/2001 Coll. on banks and on amendments to certain laws as amended. The Decree stipulates the content, form and structure of the respective statements and the dates, method, procedure and place of their submission, with effect from 1 January 2012.
The Bank Board approved the NBS Decree on the submission of statements by management companies for common funds or sub-funds for statistical purposes.
The Decree was drafted in accordance with Article 191(1) of Act No 203/2011 Coll. on collective investment and with Article 35(2) of Act No 747/2004 Coll. on supervision of the financial market and on amendments to certain laws (as amended by Act No 492/2009 Coll.). The Decree stipulates the scope, content, form and structure of the respective statements and the dates, method, procedure and place of their submission, with effect from 1 January 2012.
The Bank Board approved the NBS Decree on the elements of a banking licence application made by a bank or branch of a foreign bank and on how to prove compliance with the conditions for such licence.
The Decree responds to changes resulting from the Banking Act, Payment Services Act and certain other NBS Decrees, and also takes account of NBS’s experience from many years of licensing banking activities.
The Decree will enter into force on 31 December 2011.
