Statement from the NBS Bank Board’s 17th meeting of 2024

On 23 September 2024 the Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska (NBS) held its 17th meeting of the year, chaired by Bank Board member Vladimír Dvořáček.

The Bank Board approved the Bank’s September 2024 Macroprudential Commentary, which will be published on the Bank’s website. At the same time, the Bank Board decided to keep the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) rate unchanged.

The Bank Board discussed and approved an NBS Decree on the publication of covered bond programme information.

For banks issuing covered bonds under a covered bond programme, the Decree establishes harmonised requirements for the content, scope and templates of the information that they publish about a given programme in order to allow investors to assess the profile and risks of that programme.

The Decree includes four annexes containing table templates and instructions for their preparation. These ensure that information on covered bond programmes—which banks that issue covered bonds are required to publish under Section 67(3) of the Banking Act—is harmonised in terms of structure and content, hence enabling comparability.
The Decree takes effect on 1 October 2024.

The Bank Board approved the notification of the issuance of a €100 gold collector coin under the title ‘Intangible cultural heritage in Slovakia – Blue-dyeing’.

The coin is made from an alloy of gold (90%), silver (7.5%) and copper (2.5%), weighs 9.5 g, and has a diameter of 26 mm. Designed by Karol Ličko and produced by the Kremnica Mint, the coin is due to go on sale in December 2024.
