Statement from the NBS Bank Board's 21st meeting of 2019

The Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska today (12 November) held its 21st meeting of 2019, chaired by NBS Governor Peter Kažimír.

The Bank Board approved the following Decisions of Národná banka Slovenska:

  • Decision amending Decision No 7/2015 on conditions for opening and administering PM accounts in TARGET2-SK, as amended;
  • Decision amending Decision No 10/2018 on conditions for opening and administering T2S dedicated cash accounts (T2S DCAs) in TARGET2-SK;
  • Decision amending Decision No 4/2010 on settlement procedures for TARGET2-SK ancillary systems, as amended;
  • Decision amending Decision No 9/2018 on conditions for opening and administering TIPS dedicated cash accounts (TIPS DCAs) in TARGET2-SK.

The Bank Board approved a Decree of Národná banka Slovenska amending Decree No 6/2011 of Národná banka Slovenska on the elements of applications for prior approval of Národná banka Slovenska made under the Collective Investment Act, as amended by Decree No 1/2014.

Decree No 6/2011 is amended so that it conforms to new amendments to Act No 203/2011 on collective investment, which waive the submission by applicants of criminal record check certificates and of extracts from the Commercial Register. In addition, in line with changes to the classification of entities in the Collective Investment Act, the Decree is amended in its definitions and by the inclusion of elements of new types of application for prior approval: for the merger of an asset management company with a foreign asset management company, and for the winding-up and merger of a self-managed alternative investment fund.

The Decree takes effect on 1 January 2020.

The Bank Board approved the notification of the issuance of a €10 silver collector coin commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Slovak National Theatre.

The coin is made from an alloy of silver (90%) and copper (10%), weighs 18 g, and has a diameter of 34 mm. Designed by Peter Valach and produced by the Kremnica Mint, the silver collector coin is due to go on sale in February 2020.
