Statement from the NBS Bank Board’s 3rd meeting of 2021

The Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska today (9 February) held its 3rd meeting of 2021, chaired by NBS Governor Peter Kažimír.

The Bank Board approved a Decree of Národná banka Slovenska of 9 February 2021 amending Decree No 35/2015 of Národná banka Slovenska on how insurance undertakings subject to a special regime are to demonstrate compliance with conditions for the granting of an authorisation to conduct insurance business, as amended by Decree No 8/2017.

The purpose of the Decree is to reduce administrative burdens on natural and legal persons in Národná banka Slovenska’s authorisation procedures for insurance undertakings subject to a special regime, and to do so by using public administration information systems via the anti-bureaucracy portal OverSi.gov.sk.

Given the cancellation of natural and legal persons’ obligations to submit certain statements and documents, Národná banka Slovenska will, on their behalf, submit requests for criminal record check certificates and obtain extracts from the Commercial Register, the Register of Trades and the Land Register.

The Bank Board approved a Decree of Národná banka Slovenska of 9 February 2021 amending Decree No 5/2015 of Národná banka Slovenska on how to demonstrate compliance with conditions for the granting of prior approval of Národná banka Slovenska under Section 77(1) of Act No 39/2015 on insurance (and amending certain laws), as amended by Decree No 6/2017.

The Decree has been produced following changes introduced by Act No 177/2018 on certain measures to reduce administrative burdens through the use of public administration information systems (and amending certain laws) (the Anti-bureaucracy Act).
