Statement from the 14th Meeting of the Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska

The 14th Meeting of the Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska was held today (18 April 2011) and was chaired by Jozef Makúch, the NBS Governor.

The Bank Board approved the NBS Annual Report for 2010. The Annual Report will be published on the NBS website.

The Bank Board approved the announcement on the issue of a 10-euro silver collector coin marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ján Cikker.

The euro collector coin, weighing 18 grams and measuring 34 millimeters in diameter, will be produced from an alloy containing 900 parts of silver and 100 parts of copper. The author of the euro coin design is PhDr. Kliment Mitura.

The euro collector coins are produced by the Kremnica Mint and they are due to go on sale in July 2011.

The Bank Board discussed the Report on the activity and management of the Standing Court of Arbitration of the Slovak Banking Association in 2010. Based on the proposal of the founder of the Standing Court of Arbitration of the Slovak Banking Association pursuant to Section 91(2) of Act No 492/2009 Coll. on payment services and on amendments to certain acts, the Bank Board decided that a contribution to the activity of the Standing Court of Arbitration of the Slovak Banking Association would not be provided in 2011 taking into consideration a sufficient amount of resources from the previous periods.

The Bank Board took note of the document “Impact Analysis of Solvency II on Národná banka Slovenska”. The Analysis will be published on the NBS website.
