Statement from the NBS Bank Board's 9th meeting of 2016

The Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska today (26 April) held its 9th meeting of 2016, chaired by Jozef Makúch, the NBS Governor.

The Bank Board approved the NBS Annual Report for 2015.

Based on a proposal of the Slovak Banking Association (SBA), the Bank Board decided that no contribution would be payable in 2016 to the operation of the SBA’s Permanent Court of Arbitration, given that the Court had sufficient funds from previous periods. The decision was taken in accordance with Article 91(2) of Act No 492/2009 Coll. on payment services (and amending certain laws).

The Bank Board approved the “Quarterly commentary on macroprudential policy – April 2016” and decided to set the countercyclical capital buffer rate at …%.

The Bank Board approved the announcement of the issuance of a €10 silver collector coin commemorating the first Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The euro collector coin, weighing 18 g and measuring 34 mm in diameter, was designed by Vladimír Pavlica. It is being produced by the Kremnica Mint from an alloy containing 90% silver and 10% copper. The coin is due to go on sale in June 2016.
