NBS warning Regarding unauthorised activity of the trading company Plus500 Ltd.

Národná banka Slovenska (NBS) would like to notify potential investors of the unauthorised activity of the trading company Plus500 Ltd., currently located at the following business address: 99 Albert Street, Belize City, 8024 Belize.
According to available information, Plus500 Ltd. is the operator of an on-line commercial platform Plus500. At its Website, www.plus500.com, the company offers Slovak investors the possibility of investing in various investment instruments, mostly by the means of trading with a leverage effect using British, American, European and Asian stock-exchanges, also to Slovak investors. It is obvious that Plus500 Ltd. performs such business activities in the territory of the Slovak Republic for which a license from the NBS is required, and no such licence has been granted to the company.
Národná banka Slovenska, as the public institution authorised to grant licenses according to the laws governing the financial market, advises the public of the fact that it has not issued any license to Plus500 Ltd. that would authorise the company to pursue business in the Slovak Republic by performing activities according to Act No. 566/2001 Coll. on Securities and Investment Services and on Amendments and Supplements to Some Laws as amended.
The Národná banka Slovenska does not even list the above-mentioned company as a provider of investment services based on a single European license.
Considering all these facts, the NBS strongly warns the public that pursuing any business activities by Plus500 Ltd. in the financial market of the Slovak Republic for which a license of the NBS is required, is in violation of Slovak law. The business activities of Plus500 Ltd. are not subject to supervision by Národná banka Slovenska and any funds invested in the activities of Plus500 Ltd. are not covered by the Guarantee Fund of Investments according to the Act on Securities and Investment Services.
