Statement on new decrees of Národná banka Slovenska (NBS)

On 13 February 2018 the NBS Bank Board approved by circular resolution the following Decrees of Národná banka Slovenska.

A Decree amending Decree No 8/2012 of Národná banka Slovenska of 20 November 2012 on fees for acts performed by Národná banka Slovenska, as amended.

The new Decree updates the annex to Decree No 8/2012, primarily in order to bring it into line with the provisions of EU law and Slovak law. The updating is also a response to what has been learnt from practice. The new Decree amends all parts of the annex, which lays down the fees payable for acts that NBS performs in the following sectors and areas: banking; the capital market; insurance; pension funds; financial intermediation and financial advisory services; consumer lending; foreign exchange; and payment services.

The Decree will enter into force on 23 February 2018.

A Decree of Národná banka Slovenska on professional examinations and professional certifications for financial intermediation and financial advisory services.

The Decree stipulates the content and scope of professional examinations and professional certifications for the different levels of professional qualification laid down by law, how to conduct the examinations and certifications, the level of the fees for the examinations and certifications, the payment method for the fees, and other details concerning the examinations and certifications. Annex No 1 to the Decree specifies topics of which specialist knowledge is required, broken down by sector, and topics relating to general knowledge and legal aspects of the financial market.

The Decree will enter into force on 23 February 2018.
