NBS warning about the activity of Next Trade Ltd and R S Marketing Ltd (www.olympusmarkets.com)

Národná banka Slovenska (NBS) warns the public about the activity of the companies Next Trade Ltd, with its registered office at P. O. BOX 1276, Port Vila, Vanuatu, and R S Marketing Ltd, with its registered office at Suhata Reka 117/3, Sofia, Bulgaria, (hereinafter referred to jointly as ‘the companies’). The companies market investment products in Slovakia, yet neither of them complies with Slovak statutory requirements.

The companies operate the website www.olympusmarkets.com, where they offer investment opportunities based on transactions in foreign exchange and in other financial derivatives.

Národná banka Slovenska points out that neither of the companies has an authorisation that would allow it to conduct business in Slovakia under the Securities Act (No 566/2001). Furthermore, NBS has no record that either company is a provider of investment services under the European Union’s ‘single passport’.

The investment activities performed by Next Trade Ltd and R S Marketing Ltd are not subject to supervision by Národná banka Slovenska and funds invested with the companies are not protected under Slovak law. NBS further points out to potential investors that the companies’ services may not be marketed in Slovakia through a third party.

Consumers are also warned not to disclose their payment card data other than in a secure electronic environment and not to provide other parties with photocopies of their payment cards or payment card data.

Národná banka Slovenska continues to warn consumers interested in investing in the financial market to consider carefully before concluding a contract with a financial services provider. NBS recommends consumers to give thorough consideration to all risks and aspects of any potential investment, including their own financial resources, investment preferences, and ability to bear potential losses.
