NBS warning regarding unauthorised activity of EDBUSY SLOVAKIA, s.r.o.

Národná banka Slovenska (NBS) warns customers, depositors and investors about the business activity of the company EDBUSY SLOVAKIA, s.r.o., having its registered office at Ružová dolina 6, 821 08 Bratislava.

This company was entered in the Commercial Register of the Slovak Republic on 28 March 2008 as a company performing, among other activities, “the provision of loans from funds which are not subject to a banking licence” and “intermediation activities in the area of lending of funds which are not subject to a banking licence”. Based on a Police notice sent to NBS and on information published on the internet, it is evident that in Slovakia EDBUSY SLOVAKIA, s.r.o. conducts activities without having the requisite authorisation from NBS. These activities are aimed at encouraging customers to invest, which is connected with the promise of loans and financial benefits. In fact, however, this is the unauthorised collecting of funds from the public, i.e., an activity which is beyond those authorised by the trade office and which is subject to authorisation by NBS. Moreover, the above activities of EDBUSY SLOVAKIA, s.r.o. resemble a pyramid scheme.

Národná banka Slovenska, as the competent authority for issuing authorisations under laws regulating the Slovak financial market, warns the public that it has not issued EDBUSY SLOVAKIA, s.r.o. any authorisation to conduct activities in Slovakia regulated by Act No 483/2001 Coll. on banks (and amending certain laws), as amended; Act No 566/2001 Coll. on securities and investment services (and amending certain laws), as amended; and Act No 594/2003 Coll. on collective investment (and amending certain laws), as amended.

Národná banka Slovenska therefore strongly warns the public that any business activities of EDBUSY SLOVAKIA, s.r.o. in the area of the financial market in Slovakia, which are subject to authorisation by NBS, are conducted by this company in violation of the above laws; that the investment activities of EDBUSY SLOVAKIA, s.r.o. are not subject to supervision by NBS; and that funds invested in the activities of EDBUSY SLOVAKIA, s.r.o. are not protected under Slovak legislation.
