Slovak coins exchange at Národná banka Slovenska

Národná banka Slovenska (NBS) advises that the exchange of the Slovak coins to the euro will be possible only at Národná banka Slovenska effective from 1 July 2009. Commercial banks in the SR finished the exchange of the Slovak coins to the euro on 30 June 2009. The banks will exchange the Slovak korunas banknotes by the end of year 2009, the NBS will do it for unlimited duration.

The NBS will change the Slovak coins by the end of 2013 in these of its offices:´

  • Coins exchange at the NBS is free of charge.
  • NBS requires to sort the banknotes and coins by their nominal values.
  • Members of the NBS staff will ask to submit your identity card when exchanging the coins.

NBS reminds that when exchanging the Slovak banknotes and coins in equivalent over EUR 15 000, the banks and the NBS have the right to require such transaction to be notified at least 1 business day in advance.
