Statement from the 1st meeting of the Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska

The 1st meeting of the Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska was held today (8 January 2013) and was chaired by Jozef Makúch, the NBS Governor.

At the end of 2012 the NBS successfully completed the upgrade of UNIVERZAL-NET, a data network that allows banks and foreign bank branches in Slovakia to access selected NBS information systems, including the domestic interbank payment system (SIPS). Among the key improvements of the upgraded data network are the removal of regional restrictions on the connecting of participants, a streamlined connection process, and far more convenient communication.
