Statement from the 20th Meeting of the Bank Board of the NBS
The 20th Meeting of the Bank Board of Narodna banka Slovenska was held on 20 May 2008, chaired by Ivan Sramko, Governor.
The Bank Board of the NBS discussed and approved the Situation Report on Monetary Development of Slovakia in 2007. The Report shall be posted in its full version on the NBS´s website.
The Bank Board of the NBS discussed and approved the draft Decree of Narodna banka Slovenska that stipulates the method of proving the fulfilment of conditions necessary for the granting of a licence to provide investment services. The Decree shall ensure the execution of Articles 55 and 56 of the Act on Securities and Investment Services (The Securities Act), even after the amendments effective from 1 November and 1 January 2008. This is to enable an applicant to ask for a licence for the provision of investment services pursuant to Article 54, paragraph 1 of the Act on Securities and Investment Services (The Securities Act) and at the same time to prove the fulfilment of conditions necessary for the receiving of such a licence, as is required by the amendment effective from 1 November 2007. From the formal point of view the purpose of publishing the Decree is the fact that, as from 1 January 2008, according to the Act on Securities and Investment Services, it is possible to only issue decrees of Narodna banka Slovenska. The Decree shall become effective on 1 July 2008.
The Bank Board of the NBS discussed and approved the draft Decree of Narodna banka Slovenska on the information required in a responsible actuary´s report on the activities of an insurance or reinsurance company and on the information required in the responsible acutary´s report on the activities of a branch of foreign insurance or reinsurance company. The Decree shall become effective on 15 June 2008.
