Statement from the NBS Bank Board’s 22nd meeting of 2023
On 20 November 2023 the Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska (NBS) held its 22nd meeting of the year, chaired by NBS Governor Peter Kažimír.
The Bank Board approved the Bank’s November 2023 Financial Stability Report, which will be published on the Bank’s website (www.nbs.sk).
The Bank Board discussed and approved an NBS Decree amending NBS Decree No 16/2014 of 2 September 2014 on the disclosure of information by banks and branches of foreign banks, as amended.
The Decree cancels one annex specifying information for disclosure, entitled ‘Data on covered bonds and mortgage bonds’, and replaces another such annex, entitled ‘Data on distressed exposures and past due exposures’, with a new annex specifying information for disclosure by small, less complex and unlisted institutions.
The Decree takes effect on 31 December 2023, with the exceptions of points 1, 4, 5 and 9, which take effect on 1 October 2024.
The Bank Board discussed and approved an NBS Decree on reporting by payment institutions, branches of foreign payment institutions, electronic money institutions, branches of foreign electronic money institutions, providers of payment services in a limited scope and banks.
The Decree takes account of requirements arising from a Memorandum of Understanding on the reporting of payment fraud data, their purpose being to avoid the duplication of data collection by the European Central Bank and the European Banking Authority. The Decree also cancels and amends existing reporting templates, introduces new reporting templates, and extends the reporting obligation in the light of practical experience.
The Decree takes effect on 1 January 2024 for payment institutions, branches of foreign payment institutions, electronic money institutions, branches of foreign electronic money institutions and providers of payment services in a limited scope, and from 1 January 2025 for banks.
