Statement from the NBS Bank Board’s 23rd meeting of 2022

The Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska today (6 December) held its 23rd meeting of 2022, chaired by NBS Governor Peter Kažimír.

The Bank Board discussed and approved a draft Decree of Národná banka Slovenska on reporting by banks, foreign bank branches and investment firms for data collection purposes under other legislation.

The Decree applies to banks and branches of foreign banks in Slovakia as well as to investment firms whose consolidated assets amount to at least €15 billion. It specifies the technical means by which certain reporting statements are to be submitted to Národná banka Slovenska; the templates, reference dates and transmission dates for these statements are laid down separately by EU law. In addition, the Decree sets a separate submission deadline for statements from a specific group of banks as required for the purposes of the European Central Bank’s Single Supervisory Mechanism, a key pillar of the European banking union.

The Decree takes effect on 31 December 2022.
