Status report on euro counterfeits recovered in the first half of 2015

Banknotes

In the first half of 2015 a total of 1,878 counterfeit euro banknotes were recovered in Slovakia, similar to the number recovered in the same period of the previous year. The most numerous denominations of counterfeit banknotes were €50 (74.9%) and €20 (13.8%). The quality of the counterfeits is generally good.

Coins

In the first half of 2015 a total of 971 counterfeit euro coins were recovered in Slovakia. Their number fell by 36% compared to the same period of the previous year. €2 counterfeits accounted for 67.4% of the total. The technical quality of coin counterfeits is mostly good or very good.
