Statement from the NBS Bank Board’s 11th meeting of 2018

The Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska today (15 May) held its 11th meeting of 2018, chaired by Jozef Makúch, the NBS Governor.

The Bank Board discussed and approved the document entitled “Draft Memoranda of Understanding with competent supervisory authorities of non-EU countries in accordance with Directive 2011/61/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council“.

The Bank Board approved the notification of the issuance of a €10 silver collector coin commemorating the spontaneous, non-violent civic resistance against the Warsaw Pact invasion of August 1968.

Designed by Patrik Kovačovský and produced by the Kremnica Mint in Slovakia, the euro collector coin is made from an alloy of silver (90%) and copper (10%), weighs 18 g, and has a diameter of 34 mm. It is due to go on sale in August 2018.
