Statement from the NBS Bank Board’s 23rd meeting of 2019

The Bank Board of Národná banka Slovenska today (13 December) held its 23rd meeting of 2019, chaired by NBS Governor Peter Kažimír.

The Bank Board took note of the Analysis of Economic Convergence in Slovakia, which will be published on the NBS website.

The Bank Board approved the notification of the issuance of a €10 silver collector coin commemorating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Andrej Sládkovič.
The coin is made from an alloy of silver (90%) and copper (10%), weighs 18 g, and has a diameter of 34 mm. Designed by Karol Ličko and produced by the Kremnica Mint, the silver collector coin is due to go on sale in March 2020.

The Bank Board approved a Decree of Národná banka Slovenska amending Decree No 13/2017 of Národná banka Slovenska on reporting for supervisory purposes by banks and branches of foreign banks, as amended by Decree No 18/2018 of Národná banka Slovenska.
The Decree introduces a new template for a Report on Fraudulent Activity which banks and branches of foreign bank branches are required to submit in accordance with Section 28d(3) of the Payment Services Act (No 492/2009), as amended.
The Decree takes effect on 31 December 2019.

The Bank Board approved a Decree of Národná banka Slovenska on reporting by payment institutions, branches of foreign payment institutions, electronic money institutions and branches of foreign electronic money institutions.
The Decree introduces a new template for a Report on Fraudulent Activity which payment institutions, branches of foreign payment institutions, electronic money institutions and branches of foreign electronic money institutions are required to submit in accordance with Section 28d(3) of the Payment Services Act (No 492/2009), as amended.
The Decree takes effect on 31 December 2019.

The Bank Board approved a Decree of Národná banka Slovenska laying down the structure of an extended auditor’s report for statutory audits of banks and branches of foreign banks.
The Decree brings current practice-based requirements into line with current statutory audit requirements. At the same time, it provides Národná banka Slovenska with an instrument that will facilitate the supervision of the accounting (auditing) field and enable more effective communication between, on the one hand, banks and branches of foreign banks, and, on the other hand, the auditors that perform statutory audits of these entities.
The Decree takes effect on 31 December 2019.
