Banking interest rates statistics - deposits
MFI interest rate statistics on outstanding amounts of deposits give information about the interest received by customers. Interest rates on outstanding deposits cover all deposits placed and not yet withdrawn by customers in all the periods up to and including the reporting date. Outstanding amounts are defined as a stock of all deposits placed by customers. The agreed rate is converted to an annual basis and quoted as a percentage per annum. The calculation of annualized agreed rate depends on type of interest capitalization periods. MFI interest rate statistics on outstanding deposits provide a breakdown by original maturity, period of notice and sectors (S.11 and S.14+S.15).
Represented times series on interest rates applied on new business deposits are aggregated data breakdown by original maturity and sectors (S.11 and S.14+S.15). An interest rate on new business reflects the weighted average interest rate level that has been agreed for all new deposits during the whole reference month.
