Interest rate statistics
The objective of interest rates statistics is to present overview of the level of interest rates that resident MFIs apply to deposits and loans in vis-à-vis individual sectors of the economy of European Monetary Union (euro area). This view is valid since January 2009, when Slovakia became a member of the euro area. Figures published for period 2004 through 2008 were interest rates applied by domestic MFIs to individual economic sectors of the national Economy.
The interest rates statistics are compiled according actual Decree of the NBS on submission by banks and branch offices of foreign banks to the NBS for statistical purposes. The methodology of collected data is in line with the Regulation (EU) No 1072/2013 of the ECB of 24 September 2013 concerning statistics on interest rates applied by monetary financial institutions (recast) (ECB/2013/34).
The MFIs interest rates statistics cover two main areas: interest rates statistics on loans and interest rates statistics on deposits. Both these statistics cover MFI interest rate statistics on outstanding amounts and on new business.
