Terminals
A terminal is a physical or virtual device used to accept payment cards. The statistics include data on the number of:
- ATMs,
- POS terminals,
- e-commerce merchants.
These data are reported by Slovak payment service providers that accept and process card transactions on these devices located in Slovakia or abroad.
An ATM is a physical device enabling cash withdrawals and/or access to other services, such as account balance information, transfer of funds, or acceptance of deposits.
A POS terminal is a physical device that enables merchants to accept cashless payments by card, mobile phone, watch, or other devices.
E-commerce merchants enable the acceptance of card payments for goods and services on the internet.
The number of terminals shows the status at the end of the calendar month.
