Documents for the application for a permit for CASPs
On 30. 12. 2024, the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 on markets in crypto-assets (hereinafter referred to as “MiCA”) regarding the granting of permits to crypto-asset service providers and the performance of their activities began to apply, and therefore it will be possible to submit an application for a permit.
In this regard, the National Bank of Slovakia (hereinafter referred to as “NBS”) has prepared a package of documents aimed at streamlining the licensing procedure and providing guidance on how to proceed when preparing an application.
-
Form for request of a license
The license application form is the form on which the permit application must be submitted in order to meet the formal requirements.
-
Checklist to annexes of a request
The checklist for application attachments serves the applicant to summarize and organize all necessary attachments and the NBS to simplify navigating the application, which, given the expected scope of the application, will contribute to its faster processing.
-
Checklists to requests of DORA regulation
The DORA requirements questionnaire is used by the applicant to summarise and organise information and documents to demonstrate compliance with the DORA requirements, which are required by Article 68(8), second sentence, of the MiCA Regulation. Compliance with these requirements must also be demonstrated in the licensing procedure.
More detailed information on the DORA requirements can be found here.

Guide to the licensing conditions to CASPs
The CASP License Terms Guide explains the meaning of the individual parts of the application, explains them in plain language and helps with their implementation. It also lists the legal provisions that should be used for the individual parts of the application, which is intended to facilitate searching in the wide range of applicable regulations. Finally, each part includes annexes that must be provided to demonstrate compliance with the conditions.
Finally, we provide a generalization of the most common shortcomings in readiness for the licensing process in the crypto-asset sector, which we identified during preliminary communication with those interested in licensing, and instructions on how to avoid them.
