Visiting Researcher Program

Program of short-term research stays of renowned researchers.
It is particularly suitable for researchers from abroad, with a particular focus on monetary policy, macroeconomics or financial stability.
The aim is to collaborate and/or co-author research studies, mentor research activities carried out at the NBS, or work on own research projects relevant to the NBS.

Aim: to study economic dynamics and estimate fiscal multipliers in a structural model with green public investments

NBS Governor’s Award

Competition for the best final thesis with an economic focus for university students in Slovakia.
It is possible to nominate final theses (diploma and dissertation) in the fields of monetary policy, finance, macroeconomics, or financial stability, which have exceptional quality and are an original contribution to scientific knowledge.
The 2024 awards are presented in September 2024, the 2025 nominations are scheduled for spring 2025.

Support for doctoral studies and research

The program is designed for PhD students in economics and social sciences.
It is aimed at raising the level of scientific knowledge in the field of economics and finance and at systematic research in this area.
Financial support can be applied for as part of a wider grant call through the NBS Foundation. Successful applicant may receive support of up to € 10 000 for one academic year. Applications will be evaluated by an expert committee. More information can be found on the Foundation’s website, under Grant Program II – Science and Research.
